Count ME In's Annual Student Media Contest

Annual Count ME In Multimedia Contest:  Promoting School Attendance, Learning and Community

Students are invited to create posters, sculptures, songs, poems, or videos to express what learning and being a part of a school community mean to them. 

The winning submissions submitted during Attendance Awareness Month in September will be reproduced with the artist’s names and distributed throughout Maine.  

Students compete in one of two age groups:  ages 6 through 11 and age 12 through high school.

Rules: 

  • The entry should illustrate a message that communicates the importance of attending, learning and/or being part of a school community.
  • Only one entry per artist.
  • The submission can include an original drawing or computer-generated design.
  • Computer generated designs should be sent electronically.  
  • Formats for submissions include:
    • Visual Art (including photographs of sculpture, etc.): .jpg
    • Audio and/or video recording - .mp3, not to exceed 120 seconds
    • Typed word: .pdf, (not to exceed 8 ½ x 11 inch page)
    • Posters must be 8 1/2 x 11 inches.  
  • All designs, recordings, photographs, drawings, and/or graphics must be the student’s original work.  Copies of commercial art, music, words, or characters are not accepted.
  • Print the artist’s name in the lower right-hand corner on the back of the art work.
  • Each student must include a completed Multimedia Contest Form signed by the student and guardian.
  • All entries become the property of Count ME In.

Attendance Poster Contest Awards

  • $50 for First Place
  • $25 for Second Place
  • $10 for Third Place

A panel of adults and students will judge each submission based on how well it promotes the message.  Count ME In will add the artist’s name, age and school/program, Count ME In logo and the Count ME In website address on the winning piece(s).

Contest Details

  • Computer generated designs should be sent electronically. Formats for submissions include:
    • Visual Art
      • posters created on paper
      • submissions including photographs of sculpture, etc.: .jpg
    • Audio and/or video recording - .mp3, not to exceed 120 seconds
    • Typed word: .pdf, not to exceed 8 ½ x 11 inch page
    • Posters must be 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
  • All designs, recordings, photographs, drawings, and/or graphics must be the student’s original work. Copies of commercial art, music, words or characters are not acceptable.
